The winding road
We all take a path. Mine is a tad crooked but it gets me there.

Thanks Mom!

Recently my mom died. She was a crafty one I will say. I just opened the strong box that she had filled with things over the years that she wanted to keep safe for me. It was a bit like opening a time capsule. My first photo id from a bank, my high school diploma, silver dollars from a trip to Reno, savings bonds in my name, etc... The thing that struck me most, and really wrecked me to the point of tears, was a letter she wrote, addressed to me, some 30 years ago. The specifics of the letter are not important to anyone but me, but the message was clear. Be honest, be truthful, be kind, be strong. She loved me more than anything or anyone. Life is precious. Never forget those you love. They will always be with you. Her message was beautiful, and it was written to a boy just becoming a man. Thanks Mom. I really needed that. Talk about your zinger! Love always, your son, ~H

Thank you to the universe!

I am sure this isn't a news flash to anyone I know, but I am saying it anyways. Some days are good, some days are bad, but when they are good(for me anyway) they tend to be really good. Today was one of those days.

I used to have a really good filter that let me see things, even what most would consider negative or bad, in the best possible way. That filter has been rendered less effective as of late for a variety of reasons. On occasions, like today, it snaps into clear focus again and thank you to the universe for the glimpse it allows me from time to time.

Live, love, laugh, and be well and happy(as much of each as you can get). Cheers!

ISBIH mode: disengaged

(I'm sappy but I'm happy) just in case you wondered... :)

I am alive!

Hello to the masses(and the small group that reads this)

I have been told I should get off my duff and start posting again. I agree! In the next few days I will be posting again, and hopefully it will entertain, impress and even invigorate my audience and myself included. Until my crazy awesomeness and poignant commentary returns in the form of riot worthy postings (and it will soon! I promise!)I have one thing I want to get out right away...

I like the new social media sharing service(their term not mine) Google+. This is in beta right now and only a few have received invites so far, but be patient and check it out when you can.

I am really looking forward to it taking on Facebook and giving it a nice run of competition. Facebook has never been very ethical with user data and security, imho, and I like many of new and different features Google+ is offering anyway.

As it becomes more widely available I will hope to find more friends using it and getting some distance from Facebook. That said, I will check out of here for now but be back soon with something witty/wise and maybe a tad woeful(hey you know me) and preferably catchy to say.

Until then, Live, Love and get your Laugh on!
